ALDOT has closed U.S. 231 near Hill Road in Morgan County for the safety of the traveling public. A crack that developed in the road earlier this week continued to worsen overnight. The crack is attributed to a combination of heavy rain and deep ground saturation. ALDOT will continue to monitor and assess the situation.
