What Is CERT?
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a nationwide approach to train individuals to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors before responders arrive. CERT training focuses on disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact your area and trains members in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
CERT members are also trained in life-saving skills with emphasis on decision-making ability, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest good for the greatest number.
